Prolonged shelf life and long-lasting effect on plants |
|
Materials used in this chapter were published in the book: Biostimulant Albit for
increasing yields and protection of agricultures against diseases, A.K. Zlotnikov, Ed.
Prof. À. Melkumova. All-Russia Institute of Plant Protection, Russia, 2006.
Short shelf life (usually several weeks or months) is a major drawback of the most
of biostimulants available on market. In contrast to all other commonly used biostimulants,
Albit has very long shelf life in broad range of temperatures – 3 years at temperature
from -20 to +25°Ñ. Regarding to this characteristic, Albit is comparable to chemical
pesticides or even excels some of them. Inventors of Albit managed to reach this result
through using purified active substances from Bacillus megaterium and Pseudomonas
aureofaciens that completely retain their positive influence on plants, instead of
living microorganisms, in the bioformulation.
One can especially note the prolonged duration of effect of Albit on
plants. Plant growth stimulation and decrease of infection level lasts from several
weeks to 5-6 months after treatment with Albit. Generally, duration of effect of biological
and chemical standards is considerably shorter. Even many of highly efficient fungicides might
make plants more sensitive to disease after demonstration of brief pronounced protective effect,
that leads to necessity of subsequent additional treatments. Action of Albit is more balanced:
it combines complex effect of prolonged growth stimulation and immunization of plants.
