Materials used in this chapter were published in the book Biopesticide Albit for increasing yields and protection of agricultures against diseases, A.K. Zlotnikov, Ed. Prof. À. Melkumova. All-Russia Institute of Plant Protection, Russia, 2006.

Influence of treatments with Albit on carrot was carried out by All-Russia Institute of Vegetable Selection and Seed Breeding on carrot var. Vitaminnaya in 2001 and 2003. According to results of trials, treatment with Albit increased yield of carrot by 37.5 centners/hectare (10.9% over control) on average. Besides yield increase, Albit increased content of β-carotin in roots. In the conducted field trials, economical or biological effectiveness of Albit was not inferior to that of bioformulations based on Pseudomonas aureofaciens.
