Materials used in this chapter were published in book Biopesticide Albit for increasing yields and protection of agricultures against diseases, A.K. Zlotnikov, Ed. Prof. À. Melkumova. All-Russia Institute of Plant Protection, Russia, 2006.
According to results of trials, Albit increases green biomass yield by 13.4–110 centners/hectare, corn yield by 1.19–6.4 % (3.7 centners/hectare averagely), ear weight by 3.2–6.2 %, drought resistance through improvement of rootage. Also, Albit provides control of helmintosporiosis (BE 42-45 %) and it officially registered as fungicide against blister smut (BE 39–77 %); Among analogues, biological and economical effectiveness of Albit does not inferior in conducted trials to that of Immunocitofit. Application recommendations: Two Albit foliar sprayings at the stages of 3-6 real leaves and beginning of blossoming is recommended. It is advisable to combine foliar spraying with application of fungicides (halved doses), herbicides and insecticides. The first foliar spraying (at the stages of 3-6 real leaves) is most effective. The second one (at the beginning of blossoming) is less efficient; it increases effectiveness of first treatment by 20-30 % and can not be used singly. Presowing seed treatment is also helps to achieve the maximal effectiveness of Albit application. Farms are usually supplied with already treated maize seeds whose additional treatment is not recommended, but including of Albit to industrial technology of seed treatment:
The recommended application rates of Albit and working solution are 100 ml/tonne
of seeds, 40 ml/hectare and 10L/tonne of seed, 300 L/hectare respectively. Cost
of presowing treatment of 1 tonne of seeds is 220 roubles (8.8 USD); cost of
foliar spraying of 1 hectare is 88 roubles (3.5 USD) Full complex treatment
(presowing treatment + 2 foliar sprayings) takes 82 ml of Albit that corresponds
to 180 roubles (7.2 USD)/hectare; each litre of Albit can be used for treatment
of 12.2 hectares. 1 litre of Albit (88-100 USD)
is able to provide averagely 45 centners of corn and 691 centners of biomass
over control.
