Oats
Materials used in this chapter were published in the book Biopesticide Albit
for increasing yields and protection of agricultures against diseases, A.K. Zlotnikov,
Ed. Prof. À. Melkumova. All-Russia Institute of Plant Protection, Russia, 2006.
The stable positive influence of Albit not only on eared (wheat, barley, rye) but
also on panicled (millet, rice) cereals makes it possible to assume, that application
of Albit on oat will be also successful. This assumption was confirmed both in field
trials and in agricultural practice of many farms of Kirov and Nizhniy Novgorod oblasts.
Practical trials on treatment of oat fields with Albit were carried out in 2004 by
Krasnyy Rog collective farm of Bryansk oblast. The results of trials are presented in table:

In trials, Albit increased yield of oat averagely by 6.0 centners/hectare (22.2% over
control). Thus, effectiveness of foliar sprayings of oat with Albit was demonstrated.
Obviously, the most effective treatment of oat can be performed according to general
application recommendations for cereals: presowing seed treatment (30-40 ml/tonne) +
1-2 foliar sprayings in early stages of development (30-40 ml/hectare). Cost of each
treatment is 66-88 roubles (2.64-3.52 USD). Also, general recommendations on
joint use of Albit and chemical pesticides are
applicable to oat.
