Lupine
Materials used in this chapter were published in the book Biopesticide Albit for
increasing yields and protection of agricultures against diseases, A.K. Zlotnikov,
Ed. Prof. À. Melkumova. All-Russia Institute of Plant Protection, Russia, 2006.
Influence of Albit on lupine was examined in trials of All-Russia Institute of Vegetable
Selection and Seed Breeding (Moscow oblast) in 2001 on yellow alkaloid-free lupine var.
Bryanskiy-6. The standard technique of using Albit (presowing seed treatment,
50 ml/tonne + foliar sprayings, 40 ml/hectare) was applied. According to phenological
observations, treatment with Albit increased germination of lupine seeds under field
conditions by 5-10%. Foliar sprayings with Albit increased increment of green biomass
and provided more abundant blossoming. The average yield of lupine seeds in control set
(untreated) was 7 centners/hectare, whereas treatment with Albit increased yield to 8
centners/hectare (yield increase is 1 centner/hectare or 14.3%).
